LAIE, Hawaii – No. 2 BYU-Hawaii women's tennis posted its eighth consecutive sweep with a 9-0 victory Monday over Mills College at the BYU-Hawaii Tennis Courts.
BYU-Hawaii (17-0) took all three doubles courts in 8-0 matches. First to finish for the Seasiders were partners Min (Karen) Liu and Leah Heimuli who defeated Gwendolynn Fernstrom and Carolyn Buxton of Mills College (0-8). Nannan (Dallas) Zhang and Xin (Summer) Wen followed up taking down their Cyclone opponents in the first court, while Jeong-Min Jeon and Michelle Li Sha Khoo completed the doubles sweep against Jade Le and Dana Culpepper.
Wen opened singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Jade Escalente and Jeon was close behind with her own 6-0, 6-0 victory on court five. Heimuli and Khoo each added straight-game victories over the Cyclones on courts three and four respectively. Liu took down Christine Wu 6-0, 6-0 and McKenna Lloyd finished the sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 victory on the final court for the Seasiders.
BYU-Hawaii will travel to face Alabama A&M in Hunsville, Alabama, Saturday at 1 p.m. EDT.
