Seasiders keep up winning ways

LAIE, Hawaii (Mar. 12, 2014) - Not much was close for the No. 2 BYU-Hawaii women's tennis team as it cruised to a 9-0 win over Holy Names on Tuesday, following up it's 9-0 win on Monday over UH-Hilo.

With both wins, the Seasiders improve to 14-0 on the season.

On Tuesday, BYU-Hawaii allowed just one Holy Names player to reach a second point in any singles set, winning everything in straight sets.

In doubles, the Seasiders shutout two of three matches with 8-0 finishes from Sasha Ulbrichtova and Jade Griffin in second doubles and Jeong-Min Jeon and Kanela Adamson in third doubles.

The No. 1 doubles had the most action, but Min (Karen) Liu and Jin Jin (Leah) Han still won it 8-3.

Monday's match against Hilo was similar, but with some more Seasiders getting time on the court.

Marissa Pereira won No. 4 singles 6-3, 6-2, McKelle Sanders won fives 6-0, 6-0 and Katie Stowe won No. 6 with a matching 6-0, 6-0 finish.

BYU-Hawaii will host Chaminade next week over two days.
