Lady Seasiders look to keep momentum

LAIE, Hawaii – BYU-Hawaii women's soccer continues conference play at home against Dixie State Saturday, Concordia Monday and Cal Baptist Thursday, each at 2:30 p.m. HST.


  • The Seasiders' 4-4-1, 3-2 PacWest record holds them at third place in the conference.
  • BYU-Hawaii rides a two-game winning streak after overcoming Chaminade 1-0 and defeating Hawaii Pacific 3-0 in the past week. Sydney Eddy scored the winning shot against the Silverswords, while Jaylie Jensen blocked Chaminade's only shot on goal. Whitley Sargent scored two goals and Mackenzie Moore added a goal and assist over the Sharks.
  • Eddy, Sargent, Brena Jarvis Love and Rachel Orchard have each scored two goals this season. Kala Brundige leads with five assists.

Dixie State

  • The Trailblazers are currently ranked seventh in the PacWest with a 4-5, 2-2 record.
  • Dixie is on a two-game winning streak after a 1-0 victory against Holy Names and a 3-2 defeat of Fresno Pacific. Aubri Detmer scored the only goal on the Hawks, while Megan Spencer and Darian McCloy secured the win over the Sunbirds.
  • In last year's meeting Dixie recorded a 3-1 victory over the Seasiders. Kaisa Rogers had two goals and McCloy finished with a goal and an assist.


  • Concordia was chosen to finish third in the PacWest Preseason Poll after finishing 10-2-1 last year. 2015 PacWest Newcomer of the Year, Natalie Werner, was named as the Eagles' All-PacWest selection.
  • Coming in just below the Seasiders, the Eagles have a record of 6-0-2, 2-0-1 PacWest.
  • Their last game was a 2-0 victory over Cal Baptist with goals from Kryssa Johnson and Kara Gilchrist.
  • Last season Concordia tied BYU-Hawaii 1-1, their goal being scored by Miranda Canales.

Cal Baptist

  • Cal Baptist has gone 2-3-2, 1-1-1 so far this season, placing ninth in the conference.
  • Jordan Dow and Casey Kute lead their team with two goals each. Chaylin Couzens has made 22 total shots, but has not recorded any goals. Keeper Sara Escobedo totals 37 saves so far.
  • Cal Baptist fell 2-0 to Concordia last week and tied Azusa Pacific 0-0 previous to that.  
  • The Lancers defeated the Seasiders 1-0 in their last meeting with a goal by Lauren Wallberg.
