LAIE, Hawaii – BYU-Hawaii softball fell 13-2 and 5-1 in a doubleheader Friday with California Baptist at BYU-Hawaii Softball Field.
Soraya Shahbazian hit 5 for 7 at the plate for the Lancers (22-7, 16-2 PacWest) with three runs and four RBI.
- After a scoreless first inning, Krista Mann opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly to the warning track and two more runs scored on the next at bat after a single and an error to give the Lancers a 3-0 lead.
- Amanda Springstead singled home two more in the fifth for the 5-0 lead.
- Roxane Dennis led off the bottom of the sixth with a double and advanced to third on a ground out. She came home after the shortstop dropped a ball in an attempt to catch Lizabelle Talataina stealing at second for the lone run of the game.
BYU-Hawaii will take on Cal Baptist again Saturday in a doubleheader beginning at noon HST. Live stats will be available online.
