DENVER – BYU-Hawaii men's golf concluded its season with its best round of the NCAA Division II Championship to tie for 12th place Thursday at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club.
The Seasiders ended even par on the day for a tournament score of 10-over 874, tying with Tiffin University. Saint Leo took the top spot heading to the medal round with a 26-under 838 strokes in three rounds.
Nicolas Herrera and Brent Grant led BYU-Hawaii, each finishing at 1 under par in their final round. Herrera recorded birdies on three of the back nine to tie for 27th on the individual scoreboard with a final score of even par. Grant started the round with three consecutive birdies, but a double-bogey on hole eight slowed him down. His 2-over 218 was tied for 41st on the leaderboard.
Dalton Stanger had a second consecutive strong round finishing even par. Federico Clausen started rough, but his birdie on hole six helped him find his groove to finish with a 2-over 74 and finish tied for 43rd at 3 over. Inoka Kahawaii shot four over to round out the team.
