KAHUKU, Hawaii – Jacob Godfrey led BYU-Hawaii men's golf to a first place finish at the Brigham Young University-Hawaii Tri-Match on Wednesday at Turtle Bay Resort.
The Seasiders held on to defeat Chaminade by one stroke with a 33-over-par 609 over the 36 holes. Hawaii Pacific took third with a 49 over par. The Silverswords had the best day on the Arnold Palmer Courses shooting a 26-over 314 on the day.
Godfrey finished with a 3-over 75 and was 4 over after 36 holes to lead all golfers. Fellow Seasider Inoka Kahawaii was second on the overall board with a 7-over 151, after scoring a 9 over par on the Palmer Course.
BYU-Hawaii will take the course again Feb. 12-17 at the Holy Names East/West Tournament at The Course at Wente Vineyards in Livermore, California.
