IRVINE, Calif. – Four BYU-Hawaii soccer players earned All-PacWest honors as announced on Wednesday, following a vote of the league's coaches.
Sydney Eddy was named the PacWest Women's Soccer Newcomer of the Year after leading the Seasiders in goals and points. Eddy overcame a hamstring injury to start the year and went one to score seven goals on the year to go with one assist. She scored game winners against Chaminade, Hilo and Dominican this season. Eddy was also named to the All-PacWest Second Team.
Mackenzie Bean earned third team All-PacWest honors after scoring two goals and adding three assists. She put 52 percent of her 25 shots on goal and lifted her team past Holy Names with a goal in the 107th minute.
Braden Bailey burst on to the scene during BYU-Hawaii's first road trip of the year on his way to being named first team All-PacWest. He scored his first goal against Academy of Art and two days later poured in a conference high four goals in BYU-Hawaii's biggest win ever (6-1) over Fresno Pacific. Bailey was named the PacWest Player of the Week and Hero Sport's Hero of the Week following his strong road performance. Bailey ended with seven goals and three assists on the year.
Jake McRae earned his second conference honor being selected as a member of the All-PacWest Second Team. McRae led the Seasiders with 10 goals for the year following last year's 14 goal campaign. He is the only player in BYU-Hawaii men's soccer history to score double-digit goals in an individual season and holds the career goals record with 24.
