Women earn second place at BYU-Hawaii Invitational

LAIE, Hawaii (Oct. 19, 2013) – In the BYU-Hawaii Invitational, the women's cross country finished in second place with 31 total points right behind Hawaii Pacific's 26.

The Seasiders beat out Hilo's 115, Hawaii's 144 and Chaminade's 157.

The teams honored Heidi Greenwood with a moment of silence and wore special purple ribbons during the race. Greenwood passed away unexpectedly in March and was expected to be a part of BYU-Hawaii's team as a freshman this season.

A pack of four Cougars came in the No. 4 through No. 7 spots to take second overall.

Kami Dixon led the way with a 19:55, Casey Carpenter finished in 20:00, Brooke Rohner had a mark of 20:02 and Madeleine Westman finished in 20:03.

Jessica Horrocks rounded out BYU-Hawaii's top five in 20:08 with a 10th place finish.

The Seasiders now await the Pacific West Conference championships on November 2nd.
