Seasiders win behind Dixon's run

HILO, Hawaii (Oct. 12, 2013) - Kami Dixon from the BYU-Hawaii women's cross country team earn a first-place finish at the UH-Hilo Invitational on Saturday morning.

BYU-Hawaii's Dixon finished first overall with a 5K time of 19:45 while Casey Carpenter (20:02) and Madeleine Westman (20:11) took third and fourth, respectively.

Brooke Rohner and Jessica Horrocks grabbed the Seasiders' next two spots. Rohner finished ninth overall in 20:20 and Horrocks in 12th place with a 20:47. The Seasiders had a low of 29 points, beating out Hawaii Pacific's 34, Hawaii's 60 and 101 from Hilo and 135 from Chaminade.

BYU-Hawaii hosts the next meet in Laie on Saturday, Oct. 19.
