Seasiders ready for rivalry match

LAIE, Hawaii – BYU-Hawaii women's volleyball will face Chaminade Wednesday at 7 p.m. HST in Honolulu.

The Seasiders (2-8, 0-1 PacWest) look to bounce back after falling in a tight five-set battle during their conference opener against Hawai'i Hilo.

Sinamoni Tonga recorded her second triple-double of the season in the match against Hilo with 17 kills, 23 assists, and 18 digs and a hitting percentage of .255. Lacy Lange and Leilani Adolpho each added double-doubles with 14 kills and 21 digs and 15 kills and 20 digs, respectively.

Adolpho, Tonga, and Lange all currently average two or more kills per set and Sydney Bunker leads the team in services aces on the season with 12. Libero Penina Sao has recorded 115 digs this season.

The Silverswords (6-4, 0-1 PacWest) most recently faced Hawaii Pacific in their conference opener and fell 1-3, led by Daisia LaBrie with 16 kills and six blocks on a .333 hitting percentage. Kim Spring had a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs.

So far Chaminade's statistics are consistent with their last match as LaBrie and Spring both lead the team with over average over three kills per set. Setter Natashya Enos has recorded 248 assists in their season so far with a set average of 6.53.
