LAIE, Hawaii – No. 6 BYU Hawaii women's volleyball returns home to open conference play against Chaminade Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the George Q. Cannon Center.
Shih Ting (Stella) Chen was named to the all-tournament team at the Colorado Premier Challenge that featured all of the top five schools in last week's AVCA poll. She led the Seasiders (3-3, 0-0 PacWest) with 49 kills in four matches and is 18th in nation in kills per set. Elizabeth Blake finished with eight service aces to lead all players at the tournament, while Kalistina Takau was third in total blocks.
Chaminade (7-3, 0-0 PacWest) participated last week in the PacWest/GNAC Crossover Tournament. The Silverswords defeated Western Oregon and Holy Names, but dropped contests against Montana State, Seattle Pacific and Simon Fraser.
Chaminade enters the match against BYU-Hawaii leading all NCAA Division II schools with 81 aces. Waihilo Chartrand leads the Swords with 16 service aces. Cassie Rushlow leads Chaminade with 121 kills in ten matches.
