Volleyball team honored by City of Honolulu

HONOLULU (Feb. 19, 2014) The BYU-Hawaii women's volleyball team was honored by the City of Honolulu City Council Wednesday.

Council chair Ernest Martin invited the entire team to take the stand with him and receive a certificate from the city, honoring them for the terrific 2013 season.

BYU-Hawaii went 29-2, finished No. 2 in the nation, runner up to the NCAA Division II National Championship. The Seasiders had two All-Americans in Shih Ting (Stella) Chen and Ying Chun (Michelle) Chen.

The Seasiders were undefeated at home and won 22 matches in a row leading up to the championship match.
