RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Nov. 8, 2013) - Staying in control for all three sets, the No. 4 BYU-Hawaii women's volleyball team took care of Cal Baptist in three sets (25-19, 25-18, 25-18) on Friday night.
The Seasiders improve to 22-1 on the season and 17-1 in the Pacific West Conference to sit atop the standings. BYU-Hawaii has won 15 straight.
Cal Baptist jumped out to a 12-7 lead in the first set before the Seasiders got back on track. A kill by Erh Fang (Ariel) Hsu tied it at 14 but the Lancers answered with a 4-1 run to take the lead again. BYU-Hawaii answered the run with a 10-1 run to win set one 25-19.
The Seasiders fell behind again early in set two, trailing 5-1 early on. BYU-Hawaii got back out in front 12-11 and never looked back, steadily controlling the match to a 25-18 win to take a 2-0 lead.
The third set was all Seasiders after taking 3-2 lead. BYU-Hawaii led the rest of the way, scoring the final three points and winning 25-18 to take the match.
The road trip concludes tomorrow night at Point Loma at 5 p.m. PT.
