Three home matches, including “Pink Out” on Friday

LAIE, Hawaii (Oct. 22, 2013) – The No. 5 BYU-Hawaii women's volleyball team is scheduled to play three home games this week as they face off against Fresno Pacific, Academy of Art and Dixie State Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Friday's match will be a special "Pink Out" game for breast cancer awareness. All in attendance are encouraged to wear pink attire to show support for a terrific cause. BYU-Hawaii will wear special pink jerseys for the match.

The Seasider volleyball family has been affected by breast cancer just like millions of other families across the globe. BYU-Hawaii lost alumni Pamela Nihipali to cancer, and several more have been affected by the disease.

Wednesday and Friday's matches vs. Fresno Pacific and Academy of Art are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. HT while Saturday's contest vs. Dixie State will be at 4 p.m. HT. Wednesday's Fresno Pacific match will be televised live on BYUtv while the remaining two will be streamed live online.

The Seasiders first take on the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds (10-6, 5-4). This will be the second time these two teams face off this year. Fresno Pacific managed to take one set away from BYU-Hawaii but the Seasiders won the match 3-1 in Fresno.

Academy of Art (9-11, 5-7) will take on the Seasiders for the first time this season. The Knights will face the difficulty of trying to win at the Cannon Activity Center, where the BYU-Hawaii has been a perfect 9-0 this year.

Dixie State (11-7, 8-4) who has been good on the road, will be anxious to test the home team but will face a Seasider team with lots of momentum.

Wednesday and Friday matches begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Cannon Activities Center with Friday's match being the "Pink Out" game. Saturday's match will be an early 4 p.m. start in the CAC.
