Volleyball hosting PacWest's top two teams

LAIE, Hawaii (Oct. 17, 2013) – After seven consecutive road matches the No. 5 BYU-Hawaii women's volleyball team returns home to the Cannon Activities Center in Laie to face No. 25 Point Loma Nazarene on Friday and Cal Baptist on Saturday night in meeting of the Pacific West Conference's top three teams.

Point Loma sits atop the PacWest league standings at 10-0 and 16-3 overall. Cal Baptist is in second with a 9-1 league record while the Seasiders are right there at 8-1 in PacWest play and a 13-1 season clip.

Both matches are set to begin at 7:30 p.m. and Friday's contest will be televised live on BYUtv. Saturday's match will be streamed live online.

BYU-Hawaii went 6-1 on their road swing, dropping the first match to Hawaii Pacific and then rattling off six consecutive wins, including one over then No. 21 Fresno Pacific in a Pacific West Conference showdown.

The Sea Lions of Point Loma visit Chaminade Thursday before coming to Laie while Cal Baptist plays at Hawaii Pacific and the Silver Swords as part of its Hawaii tour.

Following Friday's match, the women's volleyball team will set the stage for men's hoops as the team hosts its annual Midnight Madness event to showcase the upcoming 2013-14 basketball season.
