PHOENIX (Oct. 14, 2013) – BYU-Hawaii junior outside hitter Shih Ting Chen has been selected the Pacific West Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week.
The honor is Chen's third PacWest Player of the Week award this season.
Chenled the Seasiders to a 2-0 week by turning in another solid all-around performance. She averaged 4.62 kills per set to rank third in kill average for the week in the PacWest, while she also ranked 10th in hitting with a .361 percentage. Chen posted 37 kills while committing just seven errors over 83 attempts.
Chen also compiled 41 points on 37 kills, two aces and four block assists, averaging 5.12 points per set – third-best in the PacWest for the week.
Defensively, Chen ranked 13th in digs per set with a 3.88 average, finishing the week with 31 total digs in eight sets.
