Seasiders maintain top ranking

TEMPE, Ariz. – BYU-Hawaii women's tennis remained on top of the Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Division II National Rankings on Wednesday.

Nannan (Dallas) Zhang maintained her No. 1 rank in singles after claiming the only victories over No. 2 Nicole Hoynaski of Hawaii Pacific. Xin (Summer) Wen moved up to naski of Hawaii Pacific. Xin (Summer) Wen moved up to No. 5 and Min (Karen) Liu was No. 8 in singles.

Zhang and Wen capped their second straight undefeated doubles season with a victory over No. 24 Varbora Kijasova and Lara Meccico of Hawaii Pacific. Liu and Leah Heimuli moved up one spot to No. 12 among doubles players.

The Seasiders finished a 27-0 season with a 5-1 victory over No. 6 Hawaii Pacific at the PacWest Women's Tennis Championships. It was the 11th consecutive PacWest Championship for BYU-Hawaii. As the No. 1 team in the West Region, the Seasiders advance to the NCAA Championships to face the East Region No. 2 team May 10 at 12 p.m. EDT at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
