Seasiders sweep Mountain Lions

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – No. 1 BYU-Hawaii women's tennis added its second victory over a ranked team of the week Tuesday with a 9-0 sweep of No. 38 Young Harris at the Bob and Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.

Michelle Khoo Li Sha and Jeong-Min Jeon gave the Seasiders (20-0) their first point after their Mountain Lion (11-5) opponents retired early. No. 2 Nannan Zhang and Xin Wen took down Oriana Labaqui and Laura Sanchez on the first court 8-0 and No. 13 Min Liu and Leah Heimuli finished the doubles sweep for BYU-Hawaii defeating Maria Puerta and Carol Quevedo 8-0 in the second court.

Heimuli finished first in singles with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Quevedo and No. 11 Wen followed defeating Labaqui 6-1, 6-0 on the second court to give the Seasiders the 5-0 match.

No. 1 Zhang took on Elin Rundcrantz 6-1, 6-2 in the first court, while Jeon defeated Kadie Hudgins 6-1, 6-0 in the last court. No. 2 Liu took the 6-0, 6-1 victory against Sanchez and Khoo completed the BYU-Hawaii sweep defeating Puerta 6-3, 6-2.

BYU-Hawaii will face Clayton State Wednesday at 2 p.m. EDT at the Clayton State Tennis Facility in Morrow, Ga.
