Seasiders roll to victory over Vulcans

LAIE, Hawaii – No. 2 BYU-Hawaii women's tennis rolled to a 9-0 victory Monday over Hawaii Hilo at the BYU-Hawaii Tennis Courts.

Michelle Li Sha Khoo and McKenna Lloyd set the tone for the match with a quick 8-0 victory in No. 3 doubles and Min (Karen) Liu and Leah Heimuli added their own 8-0 win on court two for the Seasiders (12-0). Nannan (Dallas) Zhang and Xin (Summer) Wen finished the doubles sweep with an 8-2 victory on court one.

Jeong-Min Jeon grabbed the first victory over singles play for BYU-Hawaii, defeating Cheyenne Schula 6-0, 6-0 on court five. Heimuli was not far behind with her own 6-0, 6-0 victory on court four to seal the match victory. Wen defeated Daniela Sanz Caseli of Hawaii Hilo 6-1, 6-0 on court one, while No. 4 Liu added a 6-0, 6-1 win over Kinsey Volkart on court three. No. 2 Zhang finished next for the Seasiders with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Sara Valero and Lloyd completed the team sweep with a 6-1, 6-3 win on court six.

BYU-Hawaii will face the Vulcans again Tuesday at 2 p.m. HST. Live stats will be available online.
