LAIE, Hawaii – No. 2 BYU-Hawaii women's tennis swept Holy Names 5-0 Saturday the the BYU-Hawaii Tennis Courts to move to 12-0 on the season.
Nannan (Dallas) Zhang and Xin (Summer) Wen started strong for the Seasiders with an 8-0 win over the Hawks' (2-8) Eliza MCkean and Rutendo Gwaze. Min (Karen) Liu and Leah Heimuli copied their performance in the second court defeating their Holy Name opponents 8-0. Michelle Li Sha Khoo and Jeong-Min Jeon finished the sweep in doubles winning 8-2 against Martayna Durant and Taylor Barajas.
Wen went on to defeat Dominique Ernst 6-0, 6-0 to begin singles play and Khoo defeated Julia Golub 6-0, 6-1 on court five. The teams agreed to end the match after the fifth point with an oncoming storm front.
BYU-Hawaii will take the court again Monday against Hawaii Hilo at 10 a.m. HST.
