Seasiders sweep Silverswords

KONA, Hawaii – No. 2 BYU-Hawaii women's tennis swept Chaminade 9-0 Friday at the Holua Tennis Center.

Nannan (Dallas) Zhang and Leah Hemuli started doubles play against Chaminade's Kaua Beamer and Elissa Sirai with an 8-0 match victory. Min (Karen) Liu and partner Michelle Li Sha Khoo followed suit defeating their opponents 8-0. On the third court, Jeong-Min Jeon and McKenna Lloyd took down Kim Spring and Emma Haurillon in an 8-0 victory.

In singles play, No. 2 Zhang and No. 4 Liu each took a 6-0, 6-0 victory over their opponents to secure the BYU-Hawaii victory. Hemuli won her match 6-0, 6-1 against Cai Fang, while Khoo took the 6-0, 6-0 match against Tomomi Kohno. Jeon battled against Haurillon in the fifth court and took the 6-0, 6-0 match. Lloyd secured the Seasider sweep over the Silverswords with a 6-0, 6-1 win against Spring.

The Seasiders remain on the Big Island where they face Hawaii Hilo on Saturday at 8 a.m. HST.
