LAIE, Hawaii – No. 1 BYU-Hawaii women's tennis earned the No. 1 seed in the NCAA West Region and will automatically advance to the national tournament beginning May 18.
The Seasiders will face the winner of the four-team Southeast Region No. 2 beginning Sunday. No. 2 seed Columbus State will take on Queens (NC) in the first round with No. 3 seed Flagler meeting No. 6 seed Aiken.
Flagler defeated Aiken 8-1 during regular season play and again in the 2016 Peach Belt Conference Tournament in a 5-0 sweep. During the regular season, Columbus State defeated Flagler twice, first in an 8-1 regular season victory and a 5-1 win in the 2016 Peach Belt Conference Tournament.
BYU-Hawaii faced Columbus State earlier this season, winning 8-1 on the road.
