Lady Seasiders sweep Silverswords

LAIE, Hawaii – No. 1 BYU-Hawaii women's tennis defeated Chaminade 6-0 on Thursday at the BYU-Hawaii Tennis Courts.

No. 2 doubles pair Nannan (Dallas) Zhang and Xin (Summer) Wen took a quick 8-0 match over Kaua Beamer and Michelle Bucher. Chiung-En (Jojo) Wu and Jeong-Min Jeon grabbed the second point of the match for the Seasiders (18-0) with an 8-0 victory over Jacque McGreal and Hannah Parker. Jade Griffin and Min (Karen) Liu combined at No. 2 doubles to complete the doubles sweep for BYU-Hawaii with an 8-0 win.

No. 47 Wen, Jeon and Griffin each shutout their Silversword (0-9) opponents in perfect 6-0 sets to cap off the victory. The remaining singles matches were left unfinished as BYU-Hawaii secured the win.

The Seasiders will face Chaminade again tomorrow at 2 p.m. HST to close the regular season.
