TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – No. 1 BYU-Hawaii ended its road trip with a 9-0 win over Stillman College on Saturday at the Tiger Tennis Courts.
Jade Griffin and Kanela Adamson gave the Seasiders (17-0) their first point of the match with an 8-0 shutout of Nair Tolemeo and Angela Corredor of Stillman (8-10). No. 16-ranked pairing Min (Karen) Liu and Shu-Ying (Suzie) Hsieh added an 8-1 victory over the Tigers' Maria Andreeva and Victoria Izakova. Chiung-En (JoJo) Wu and Jeong-Min Jeon finished the doubles sweep for BYU-Hawaii with an 8-1 win of Taylor Shaw and Toni McIntyre.
No. 1 Nannan (Dallas) Zhang began singles with a 6-0, 6-0 dispatching of Corredor in No. 1 singles and Adamson followed moments later with a double-bagel win of her own at No. 5 singles to put the Seasiders within a point of winning the match. No. 47 Xin (Summer) Wen sealed the victory with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Izakova in No. 2 singles.
With the match in hand, Griffin added a 6-1, 6-0 win moments later against Stillman's Tolemeo and BYU-Hawaii's Wu took a 6-1, 6-1 match with Shaw. Jeon wrapped up the match with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Adreeva in No. 4 singles.
BYU-Hawaii will return home to host Chaminade in its final match of the regular season on Friday at 2 p.m. HST.
