LAIE, Hawaii – No. 2 BYU-Hawaii women's tennis shut out Chaminade 9-0 in nearly perfect sets on Wednesday at the BYU-Hawaii Tennis Courts.
No. 9 Min (Karen) Liu was the only Seasider (5-0) to lose a set in her 6-0, 6-1 court-one victory over Kim Takara. No. 2 Nannan (Dallas) Zhang took care of business in No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Michelle Bucher. Xin (Summer) Wen, Shu-Ying (Suzie) Hsieh, Chiung-En (JoJo) Wu and Kanela Adamson each added perfect double-bagel victories over the Silverswords (0-8).
Liu and Hsieh faced Takara and Bucher in doubles and came away with an 8-0 win. Additional 8-0 doubles wins came from Zhang and Wen over Emma Haurillon and Kim Spring, as well as Wu and Adamson versus Hannah Parker and Lauren Uehara.
BYU-Hawaii will head to California to play at Stanislaus State on Saturday at 12 p.m. PDT.
