HONOLULU, Hawaii – No. 3 BYU-Hawaii women's tennis returned to Oahu with a 9-0 sweep of Chaminade University in straight sets on Wednesday afternoon.
Jade Griffin and Kanela Adamson defeated their Silversword (1-11) opponents 8-0 in the first doubles match of the day. Jeong-Min Jeon and Chiung-en (JoJo) Wu conquered their challengers 8-2. An 8-1 victory by Hailey Daniels and Marisa Pereira extended the Seasider (26-1) lead as they finished doubles play.
Griffin opened singles play with a "double-bagel" of Melanie Schumilas. Jeon and Adamson each played 6-0, 6-1 victories over the Silverswords while Wu conquered Roni Hewett 6-1, 6-0. Pereira added another "double-bagel" to BYU-Hawaii's record and Daniels finished with a 6-0, 6-1 shutout.
The Seasiders will finish the regular season next Friday at Hawaii Pacific University.
