Seasiders finish road trip undefeated

AZUSA, Calif. – No.4 BYU-Hawaii women's tennis continued its winning streak with a 8-1 victory over No. 17 Azusa Pacific on Thursday afternoon.

No. 2 Nannan (Dallas) Zhang of BYU-Hawaii had a 6-0, 6-1 victory on the first singles court against No. 28 Natalie Johnson. No. 6 Min (Karen) Liu defeated No. 33 Valeriia Kashina of Azusa Pacific 6-1, 6-3, while No. 10 Marietta Tuionetoa added a 6-4, 6-0 victory over the Cougars' Danae Ingwaldson.

Jeong-Min Jeon conquered Lindsey Yeom 6-0, 7-6(4). Jin Jin (Leah) Han continued BYU-Hawaii's drive in singles with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Sierra Troxel. Jade Griffin finished singles by dominating Bethany Duval 6-2, 6-1.

In doubles competition, No. 3 pairing of Liu and Zhang prevailed against the Cougars' Johnson and Kashina 8-2. Han and Tuionetoa added an 8-0 triumph over Azusa Pacific's Troxel and Yeom. The final 9-8(5) doubles match was the Cougars' only victory against BYU-Hawaii's Wu and Jade Griffin.

The Seasiders will come home and enjoy a week to rest and prepare for their next match against Hawaii Hilo on Friday at 2 p.m. HST.
