Seasiders record third consecutive sweep

HOLUA, Hawaii – No. 4 BYU-Hawaii women's tennis recorded its third consecutive sweep with a 9-0 win over Hawaii Hilo on Wednesday afternoon at the Holua Tennis Center.

The Seasiders' Jade Griffin, Jin Jin (Leah) Han and Jeong-Min Jeon "double-bageled" three Vulcans in singles play. Kanela Adamson defeated Shanise Kaaikala in a quick 6-1, 6-1 match.

Chiung-En (JoJo) Wu had a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Rachel Sugiyama to continue the Seasider domination. Another 6-1, 6-1 win came from no. 6 Min (Karen) Liu against Trixie Croad.

Wu and Griffin had a fantastic 8-2 match over their Vulcan opponents. Marietta Tuionetoa and Han shut out their challengers in straight games 8-0 and a second 8-0 sweep came from the No. 3 doubles partners Liu and Nannan (Dallas) Zhang

BYU-Hawaii looks to continue their clean sweep streak going against Sonoma State at Holua Tennis Center on Thursday at 1 p.m. HST.
