SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Feb. 26, 2014) - Winning its third consecutive match by a score of 9-0, the No. 2 BYU-Hawaii women's tennis team beat Point Loma on Wednesday.
Min (Karen) Liu and Nannan Zhang led the way with a 8-1 doubles win at the No. 1 position while Marietta Tuionetoa and Marika Kobayashi won 8-1 as well in No. 2 doubles. Jin Jin Han and Sasha Ulbrichtova were victorious 8-2 to claim the third doubles point.
The Seasiders (9-0) swept the singles points as well with a 6-3, 6-4 win from Liu in first singles.
Kobayashi and Zhang both won at No. 2 and No. 3 with scores of 6-0, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-3, respectively.
At No. 4 singles, Tuionetoa took her matchup 6-0, 6-1.
Kanela Adamson had the closest battle in No. 5 singles, coming away with a 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 victory.
Jade Griffin earned the win in the sixth singles, taking it 6-3, 6-4.
BYU-Hawaii plays at Azusa Pacific Thursday to return right to action.
