LA MIRADA, Calif. (Feb. 22, 2014) - Keeping the winning streak going, the No. 2 BYU-Hawaii women's tennis team beat Biola and Hope International in matching 9-0 victories Saturday.
The Seasiders have won their first eight matches of the season.
BYU-Hawaii took down Biola 9-0 first off in the morning.
The Seasiders ran away with doubles. Marietta Tuionetoa and Kanela Adamson took the first doubles 8-1, Jade Griffin and Jin Jin (Leah) Han won No. 2 8-0 and Sasha Ulbrichtova and Jeong-Min Jeon won No. 3 doubles 8-1.
A similar story took place in singles with 6-0, 6-0 wins in the No. 1 position with Tuionetoa, Griffin in the fifth spot and Jeon at No. 6.
Adamson won her No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-0 and Ulbrichtova was victorious 6-1, 6-1 in No. 3 and Han took No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-2.
In the second match, vs. Hope International, BYU-Hawaii was just as strong with another 9-0 win.
Jeon won the No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-2 and Griffin topped her opponent 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2.
Ulbrichtoba and Han won at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions with 6-0, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1 performances.
Adamson swept the No. 5 singles 6-0, 6-0 and the No. 6 spot went to BYU-Hawaii with no player available for Hope International.
The Seasiders will visit Point Loma on Tuesday as the next stop on the road trip, starting a busy week of four matches.
