FRESNO, Calif. – BYU-Hawaii women's soccer fell 4-0 to Fresno Pacific University Saturday evening at Ramirez Field.
Amber Rodriguez led all players with two goals, while Rachelle Schiller and Bianka Garcia each added one for the Sunbirds (4-2, 2-0 PacWest).
BYU-Hawaii had 11 shots with just three on goal, compared to Fresno Pacific's 20 shots with 13 on goal.
The Sunbirds jumped to an early lead when an assist by Maria Montoya found Rodriguez who chipped it over Jensen from inside the box to take the 1-0 lead in the 13th minute.
Whitley Sargent had BYU-Hawaii's first shot of the game at in the 26th minute from the top of the box, but it was high.
Fresno Pacific scored again in the 31st minute when Rachel Anderson passed to Hannah Strong who crossed it to Schiller and scored with a soft touch past the keeper, putting the Sunbirds up 2-0.
Ekaterina Herrod ended the half for the Seasiders with a shot on goal from inside the box, but it was saved by keeper Summer Hammond.
The Sunbirds scored again when Amber Rodriguez found Garcia whose header bounced over Jensen in the 54th minute.
Brundige recorded her shots on goal in the 53rd and 56th minutes, but the backline and Hammond kept their net clean.
Vanessa Casillas played a ball into the box from the left side and gave Rodriguez a direct kick ten yards out, which she put in the back of the net for Fresno Pacific's fourth and final goal.
