Seasiders offense kept at bay by Red Storm

ST. GEORGE, Utah – BYU-Hawaii women's soccer was unable to fight back against Dixie State in a 3-1 loss on Thursday at Hansen Stadium.

Kate Gurney led the Seasiders (2-5-2, 1-2-1 PacWest) with 2 shots on goal and Kristine Reynolds capitalized on a penalty kick giving the Seasiders their only goal.

Dixie State (4-5, 2-3 PacWest) outshot the Seasiders 18-3 and 9-3 with shots on goal. Kelsey East was able to save 4 of Dixie's shots on goal and Daryl Kaufusi added two saves.

Dixie State's Darian McCloy received a flip throw in the middle of the box and put the ball in the high right corner in the 32nd minute. Not much else happened in the first half as the Red Storm held the Seasiders without a shot in the period.

Kaisa Rogers intercepted a ball off after BYU-Hawaii was unable to clear and put a shot top shelf from 20 yards out for the 2-0 lead.

Shortly after Rogers' goal Kristine Reynolds earned a penalty kick after a foul inside the box and converted cutting the lead to one in the 74th minute. The momentum was short lived after Rogers took a pass from Courtney Fryer and put in her second goal of the game in from 10 yards out just 20 seconds later. The Seasiders were unable to mount the
