LAIE, Hawaii – BYU-Hawaii women's soccer lost 1-0 to Western Oregon despite putting four shots on goal in the second period Tuesday afternoon on the campus of BYU-Hawaii.
The Seasiders (0-3-0) had several opportunities to pull ahead in the contest, but the Wolves (1-1-0) were the first to see a point put on the board. Western Oregon drew a corner kick in the 85th minute and a bouncing ball was deflected by a BYU-Hawaii defender into the back of the net.
The Seasiders applied plenty of pressure on the Wolves' defense in the final minutes of the game. Jana Wall put a ball on frame in the 90th minute, but the strike bounced directly to the keeper.
BYU-Hawaii will have a week before its next game after playing three games over six days. The Seasiders will head to Arcata, Calif., to take on Palm Beach Atlantic on Sept. 19 at 12 p.m. PST.
