LAIE, Hawaii (Nov. 2, 2013) – Kim Micheletti scored in the 104th minute for the golden goal in double overtime to take down Holy Names 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Micheletti's score was her third of the season and helped extend BYU-Hawaii's (7-4-2, 6-3-1) winning streak to six in a row.
The first half was quiet despite the Seasiders getting three shots on goal. Micheletti had a good look in the closing seconds but the Hawks' goalie was right there to make a play.
The Seasiders were on the offensive in the second half and took eight shots but couldn't get any to get in the back of the net. Kailee Kartchner had a good look that banked off the side of the goal. Emily Marie Barfus had another in the closing minute that went high over the crossbar.
After several shots in the first overtime Micheletti's goal midway through the second overtime period finished off the Hawks.
BYU-Hawaii has one home game remaining and will honor the seniors on Wednesday, Nov. 6 vs. Hawaii Pacific in Laie at 12:30 p.m.
