LAIE, Hawaii (Oct. 23, 2013) – A day full of aggressive shot taking helped the BYU-Hawaii women's soccer team beat Chaminade 2-0 on Wednesday in Laie.
The Seasiders (5-4-2, 4-3-1) took 36 shots in the game, including 10 on goal. Sarah Bodily and Kailee Kartchner led the way with five shots apiece. Goalkeeper Megan McCain held Chaminade (0-13, 0-9) scoreless with two saves.
BYU-Hawaii finally cashed in on all the shot attempts in the second half with two goals and kept the Silver Swords shotless in the second half.
Emily Barfus scored in the 60th minute and just one minute later Bodily knocked in another in the 61st to make it 2-0 Seasiders.
BYU-Hawaii controlled possession in the first half too, taking 14 shots to Chaminade's three. BYU-Hawaii put six on goal but couldn't find the back of the net in the first 45 minutes.
