Seasiders outlasted by Point Loma in overtime

The Seasiders (1-4-1, 0-3) tied the score in the first half with a goal from McKenzie Evans in the 38th minute. Both teams remained at a 1-1 standoff until the Sea Lions (4-3-1, 3-0-1) knocked in a goal three minutes into the first overtime period.

Evans' goal was one of six shots taken by BYU-Hawaii, with Sarah Bodily, Mckenna Hamberlin, and Kassy Binning getting looks.

BYU-Hawaii's Binning was able to take a good shot in the 18th minute but it was saved by Point Loma's keeper.

After Binning's attempt the Sea Lions countered and were able to score in the 23rd minute to take a 1-0 lead.

BYU-Hawaii fought hard and in the 38th minute when Evans made her first goal of the season with an assist by Kim Micheletti.

The second half ended with BYU-Hawaii and Point Loma still tied, sending it into overtime before the Sea Lions would win it.

The Seasiders will next play Dixie State in St. George, Utah on Oct. 3 at 4:30 p.m. MT.
