Women’s soccer beats Hawaii Pacific University 1-0

HONOLULU (Sept. 21, 2013)- The BYU-Hawaii women's soccer team battled Hawaii Pacific University for a 1-0 win on Saturday in Honolulu.

Kailee Kartchner took three shots against HPU, connecting on one in the 56th minute for the lone score of the game.

BYU-Hawaii's defense was solid as keeper Megan McCain put up three saves.

The first half was started with a shot by Kim Micheletti but was saved by HPU's goal keeper. Kartchner and Kassy Binning took good looks at the goal but nothing that hit the back of the net.

In the second half Kartchner made a goal close to the start. The Seasiders almost got another by a shot from Makenzie Evans that was saved by the goalie.

The one goal would be enough however, with BYU-Hawaii hanging on to edge out the Sea Warriors.

Up next the women's soccer team will play Azusa Pacific on September 26th at 5 p.m. in Azusa, California.
