LAIE, Hawaii – BYU-Hawaii women's basketball head coach Craig Stanger announced the signing of guard Tyvette White on Tuesday.
"We are extremely happy to have Tyvette join the Seasider Ohana," Stanger said. "Tyvette is an explosive guard that has the ability to play the one, two or three positions. She is a strong rebounder and is aggressive attacking the basket. Tyvette has good length and agility which allows her to defend a variety of wing players. Her good decision making allows her to thrive in a team oriented program and we feel she will make an immediate impact on our team."
White comes to the Seasiders after spending the past two seasons at Citrus College. She was named First Team All-Western State Conference, as well as the most valuable defensive player this past season. White averaged 9.6 points for the Owls to go with 4.5 rebounds and two assists per game.
White scored a career-high 28 points to lead Citrus to a 62-60 victory over College of the Canyons. White prepped at Diamond Ranch High School in Ontario, California. She was named First Team All-Hacienda League as a senior.
