Medlock and Hooper win last Final 5 of regular season

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (Mar. 3, 2014) - Senior basketball players, DeAndre Medlock from the men's team and Danna Lynn Hooper of the women's team earned Final 5 recognition in the final week of the regular season from the Pacific West Conference.

Medlock averaged 16.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in two wins for the Seasiders as they moved up to the No. 4 seed in the PacWest Tournament. He had 20 points, making 10 of 10 free throws, seven rebounds and two blocks against Holy Names.

In an overtime win at Chaminade, he logged 12 points and six rebounds. He completed two crucial and-1 plays in the second half to help spark the comeback victory.

Hooper finished her BYU-Hawaii career with a bang, guiding the Seasiders to two wins to close out the year, averaging 24.0 points per game on 52.6 percent shooting (15-27).

She scored 30 points against Holy Names, making 14 field goals, including four three-pointers in her final home game.
