SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Feb 15. 2014) – The BYU-Hawaii women's basketball team fell behind early and could never catch up as Point Loma defeated the Seasiders 91-40 on Saturday afternoon.
A slow start and abundance of turnovers made things tough. Point Loma's defense held strong in the first half, holding BYU-Hawaii to nine points over the first eight minutes of the game.
Jiashan Cui led with four points and four boards in the the first half for the Seasiders but still trailed 39-14. BYU-Hawaii shot just over 23.1 percent in the first half to the Sea Lions' 48.3 percent.
The second half wasn't much better however, as the Seasiders just could not find the bottom of the net.
BYU-Hawaii couldn't catch up to Point Loma and the Seasiders lost the game 91-40.
The team will return to the comforts of home for the two final home games of the regular season. BYU-Hawaii will first host Fresno Pacific on Saturday, Feb. 22.
