Washington named All-Conference First Team

AZUSA, Calif. (March 15, 2013)—Brigham Young University Hawaii senior Shayla Washington has been named to the Pacific West Conference Women's Basketball All-Conference First Team. 

The team, announced today by the conference at the inaugural PacWest post-season tournament, also includes Seasider sophomore Brydgette Tatupu-Leopoldo as an Honorable Mention selection.

Washington led the Seasiders, and the PacWest, in scoring this season with 19 points per game.  She finished fourth in the conference in rebounding with 9.6 and seventh in the PacWest in steals with 2.3 per contest.  She was named to the PacWest Fantastic 15 in seven different weeks this season.

Tatupu-Leopoldo joined the Seasiders in January and made an immediate impact on the team and the conference.  In conference-only statistics, she finished fourth in the PacWest in scoring with 17.3 points per game, first in three-pointers with 3.2 per game, 12th in assists with 3.2 per game, and second in free throw percentage at .857.
