Seasiders swarm Yellow Jackets (Game 2)

LAIE, Hawaii – BYU-Hawaii women's softball swept Baldwin Wallace in a doubleheader Tuesday with 4-0 and 6-2 wins at BYU-Hawaii Softball Field.

Brittany Vasquez led the Seasiders (8-14) with two RBI on 3 for 4 hitting on the day. Meghan Wantz moved to 5-6 with her second shutout of the year, while Taiana Williamson (2-7) earned the victory with a complete game in the night cap.

Alexis Boledovic provided a spark to the Yellow Jacket (2-4) offense in the second game going 3 for 4 at the plate with an RBI and a run.

Game two

  • BYU-Hawaii started the second game strong again. Sarah Captain walked and Didonna followed with a double to right center to bring Captain home and put the Seasiders on the board.
  • Didonna then advanced to third on a groundout and Makaela Williamson executed the squeeze to bring Didonna around.
  • Talataina singled to center with two outs in the third inning and Alexander on second to bring home another run and start the rally.
  • Vasquez and Marissa Harne singled to left field with the bases loaded to bring home two and Abigail Doney was hit by a pitch to make it 6-0 in favor of BYU-Hawaii.

BYU-Hawaii will resume conference play Thursday against Azusa Pacific at 1 p.m. HST. Live stats will be available online.
