LAIE, Hawaii – Sophomore Max Moncur beat all runners across the finish line to lead BYU-Hawaii men's cross country to a second-place finish in the BYU-Hawaii Invitational on Saturday morning.
Hawaii Pacific came in first with 27 points, with six of their runners placing in the top 10. The Seasiders followed with 29 total points and the remainder of the top 10 scorers. Chaminade finished with 83 points.
Moncur crossed the finish line first in 16:30, followed by Jackson Oliver whose time of 17:06 put him in third. Philip Herrera was the next Seasider to cross in 17:27 to rank sixth and Boston Wood's 17:35 pace handed him eighth place. Evan Morrow (17:42.1, 11th), Dallin Olander (18:44, 14th), Jordan Onkst (19:14, 15th) and Nick Fox (19:15.8, 17th) were the remainder of the runners for BYU-Hawaii.
The Seasiders will compete next at the UH Big Wave Invitational on Saturday at the Kahuku Golf Course at 7:45 a.m. HST.
