KAHUKU, Hawaii (Sept. 28, 2013) – The BYU-Hawaii men's cross country team took first overall at the Hawaii Pacific Invitational on Saturday with a team score of 29 points.
Kevin Miller led the Seasiders to first place as the top team runner and second place overall, with an 8K time of 26:31. Clayton Kearl, Tanner Smith, and T.J. Hesselgesser trailed roughly a minute behind Miller. Kearl crossed the finish line at 27:37, Smith at 27:38, and Hesselgesser at 27:42.
BYU-Hawaii snagged their second win of the season with a comfortable win. HPU dragged behind with a score of 38 and Chaminade with 78.
In fifth place for the Seasiders was Matt Belliston with a time of 27:57.
BYU-Hawaii will take on University of Hawaii at Hilo on October 12, 2013 at 8 a.m.
