KANEOHE, Hawaii (Sept. 14, 2013) – The BYU-Hawaii men's cross country team took first overall at the Big Wave Invitational on Saturday with a team score of 42 points.
Kevin Miller nabbed a second-place finish in the men's 5K with a time of 16:14 and Clayton Kearl and Matt Belliston took eighth and 10th place, respectively. Kearl recorded a time of 16:40 and Belliston a 16:44.
BYU-Hawaii's first place finish is their top mark of the season after three meets. The Seasiders beat out Hawaii Pacific (60), Alaska Fairbanks (63), George Fox (73) and Chaminade (130).
Rounding out BYU's top five was Jon Hooke in 13th place in a time of 16:53 and Courageous Herrera at 17:05.
The team will take a week off now and return to action on Sept. 28 in Honolulu.
