LAIE, Hawaii (Aug. 31, 2013) – The BYU-Hawaii men's and women's cross country teams opened the season on Saturday morning against Alaska Anchorage.
The Seasiders showed well in their first contest despite the Seawolves claiming the first four spots with Clayton Kearl notching a fifth-place overall finish with a time of 16:08 in the men's 5k.
In the women's 5k, Kami Dixon led the way for the Seaisders finishing in the No. 7 spot with a 19:32. Julia Taylor and Brooke Roehner took 10th and 11th place with a 19:47 and 19:50, respectively. Jessica Paget and Madeleine Westman were right behind in the 12th and 13th spots at 20:02 and 20:45 to round out BYU-Hawaii's five scorers.
Next week, the Seasiders meet up with Chaminade on Saturday, Sept. 7 in Honolulu.
