LA HABRA, Calif. – No. 26 BYU-Hawaii men's tennis shook up its lineup in a 5-0 win Friday over Hope International at La Habra Tennis Center in its penultimate match in Southern California.
Ibrahim Karmadzha and Ian Galli started BYU-Hawaii (6-2) off with an 8-4 win over Andres Rivas and Avi Bami of Hope International (0-4). Sterling Galli and Simon Guillin paired for the first time to add an 8-2 victory on court two, while Guillermo Ucelay Pueyo and Chia-Hua Lu also won 8-2 on court one in their first match together on court one.
Guillin defeated Gabriel Bazertti 6-1, 6-0 to put BYU-Hawaii within a point of victory and Tsu-Ping Kuang sealed the match with a 6-1, 6-2 win over the Royals' Andres Rivas.
BYU-Hawaii will finish its road trip Saturday against No. 13 Azusa Pacific at 9:30 a.m. PST at the Munson and Bavougian Tennis Complex.
