LAIE, Hawaii - No. 18 BYU-Hawaii men's tennis fell 6-3 to Cleveland State University on Thursday afternoon at the BYU-Hawaii tennis courts.
No. 43 Martin Chojnacki won a close 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(4) match over Jorg Van Der Vloet and Ibrahim Karmadzhe had a 4-6, 7-6(4), 1-0(7) win over Joe VanMeter to give the Seasiders (9-4) their only singles victories.
Cleveland State increased its lead with a 7-5 win over No. 6 pair Chojnacki and Yevhen Zakharov. Dai and Lee gave BYU-Hawaii its only doubles victory in a 6-4 match. Colton Pate and Karmadzhe ended with a 6-3 loss.
The Seasiders will face Emory on Friday at 2 p.m. at the BYU-Hawaii tennis courts.
