LAIE, Hawaii (Oct. 28, 2013) - Through a grueling regulation period and two overtimes the BYU-Hawaii men's soccer team managed a 0-0 draw against Academy of Art on Monday afternoon.
The tough and physical game amassed 47 fouls between both teams, inlcuding four total yellow cards.
The Seasiders (7-3-3, 5-2-2) took 10 shots in a defensive battle, including three on goal. The Urban Knights (8-4-2, 5-2-2) took nine shots with four on goal.
BYU-Hawaii had a good opportunity when Bent Jenson had a decent look midway through the second overtime period but his shot sailed just above the right side of the crossbar.
Earlier in the match, Landon Southwick made a goal-saving play. After goalkeeper Chris Pineda made a play on the ball out wide in the box, a shot from Academy of Art snuck passed him but a diving Southwick blocked it away to preserve the scoreless tie.
Play-after-play was made but neither team could get a goal to go after 110 minutes.
The Seasiders will play Holy Names on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Laie.
