Moreno’s two quick scores drown Sea Warriors

KANEOHE, Hawaii (September 21, 2013) The BYU-Hawaii men's soccer team defeated Hawaii Pacific 4-2 behind two goals from Mike Moreno.

BYU-Hawaii (2-1-1) had 14 shot attempts with HPU (2-2-1) getting 11 shot attempts. Goal keeper Chris Pineda had a solid game in the goalie box with six saves.

Cam Neeley quickly got the scoring started as he put the Seasiders on the scoreboard in the 23rd minute. Within 10 minutes of Neeley's goal, the game was tied up at 2-2 after Bent Jenson added a goal but the Sea Warriors answered again.

Both teams went on a scoring frenzy with four goals in nine minutes of play. Half time ended with the match tied, 2-2.

The second half started off slowly for BYU-Hawaii until Mike Moreno took charge and knocked in two goals for the Seasiders within three minutes of each other.

Moreno's first goal was a through ball with some help from Jenson. Moreno's second goal was a free kick that hit off the right post straight into the net.

The Seasiders now hit the road on a mainland trip where they will face Azusa Pacific on Thursday, Sept. 26.
